About 3D imaging.
A standard X-ray flattens three dimensions into one image, so structures overlap. A CBCT reconstructs the same area in three dimensions, which is what makes it possible to measure bone, locate a nerve or find an extra root canal before treatment rather than during it.
No. A CBCT is taken when the treatment being planned genuinely needs what it shows: implants, complex endodontics, extractions and oral surgery. It is not a routine part of a check-up.
You stay standing or seated while the scanner rotates around your head. It takes well under a minute, nothing touches you, and the images are available immediately.
