About oral appliance therapy.
It is worn at night and holds the lower jaw and tongue in a position that keeps the airway open, which reduces the collapse that causes snoring and obstructive events.
For mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea it may be an alternative, and for some patients it works alongside existing treatment. Which applies depends on your diagnosis, so it is a conversation to have together with the physician managing it.
Obstructive sleep apnea is a medical diagnosis, so treatment follows from one. If you snore and have never been assessed, that is the place to start, and we can talk about the appliance alongside it.
