About root canal treatment.
The infection is what hurts; the treatment is what stops it. The tooth is fully numbed throughout, and most patients describe the appointment itself as comparable to having a filling done.
Extraction is quicker, but it starts a longer story: the gap, the drift of neighbouring teeth, and the cost and surgery of replacing it. Where a tooth can be predictably saved, keeping it is usually the better outcome.
Often, yes. A root-treated tooth has lost internal structure and is more prone to fracture, so a crown is frequently what makes the treatment last.
Yes. We welcome referrals for root canal therapy and complex endodontic cases, and patients are returned to their own dentist for continued restorative care once treatment is complete.
