Sedation Dentistry

We understand that dental anxiety is common, and we want every patient to feel comfortable and cared for. Our sedation options include oral sedation and nitrous oxide (“laughing gas”), so treatment you have been putting off becomes something you can get through calmly.

In short

What this treatment actually involves.

We understand that dental anxiety is common, and we want every patient to feel comfortable and cared for.

Sedation is not a last resort here and it does not need justifying. If it is the difference between having treatment and avoiding it for another five years, it is the right choice.

Our sedation options

Two options, and you choose.

  • Oral sedation

Prescription medication taken before treatment helps reduce anxiety and creates a more relaxed dental experience.

  • Nitrous oxide (“laughing gas”)

Nitrous oxide is a safe and effective sedation option that helps patients feel calm during treatment while allowing for a quick recovery afterward.

Who it's for

Patients with dental anxiety or a strong gag reflex, anyone who has avoided the dentist for years, and patients facing longer appointments.

Patient stories

In our patients' words.

Dr Sonja Stojicic is so amazing. I feel irrationally afraid at the dentist and she helped me immensely today. She did such a great job on my fillings and my bonding. I didn't even feel the needles! I highly recommend DR. Sonja. Thank you, Michelle

Common questions

About sedation.

No. Both options keep you awake and able to respond. What changes is how the appointment feels, not whether you are present for it.

After nitrous oxide, recovery is quick and most people carry on with their day. Oral sedation is different. It needs arranging in advance and you will need someone to take you home. We will tell you which applies when we book.

No. Dental anxiety is common, and telling us when you book simply means we plan the appointment around it from the start.
